This section needs expansion. We are quite sure Mitchell had some internal method of determining what was made and when. Later models had FRANCE in raised letters on the foot instead. There are some cases where there is no numbering on the reel. They are also prime meaning they have been used in the past but still in good condition. The lowest serial number found to date is A07127 and the highest is A07324 with two others in between. There is probably some type of order in this but we could not determine the sequence to sin a consistency that would coincide with year of manufacture. These are also extremely rare!!.
